EDWARD R. MURROW AWARDS
My work has been recognized with three Edward R. Murrow Awards, including the 2016 award for outstanding writing in the Pacific Northwest.
ALFRED I. duPONT AWARD (counterpart to Pulitzer Prize)
The Alfred I. duPont is considered the television counterpart to the Pulitzer Prize, which is also awarded by Columbia University. In 2010, the awards jury at Columbia Journalism School honored me with a duPont Silver Baton, widely considered the highest national honor in television journalism. The duPont recognized a long-term investigative series and documentary that aired on ABC in Madison, Wisconsin.
My work has been honored with multiple first-place awards from the National Press Photographers Association, Wisconsin Association of Broadcasters, Hometown Video Festival and Radio-Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas.
I've been honored to speak at various conferences, events and panels, including the Newseum in Washington, DC, the Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference, Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, the National Air & Space Museum and the National Young Leaders Conference.
In 2012, Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy invited me to spend a semester as a visiting media fellow.
